Export Policy
Documentation that clears customs.
Exporting salt is a documentation discipline as much as a production one. This policy states the codes, documents, testing and responsibilities that apply to a Salzenith shipment — and what remains the buyer's side to confirm.
How to read this page
Policy, not a promise for one order
Everything here describes Salzenith's standard export practice. The documents, codes, trade term and payment term for your shipment are the ones written into your quotation or order confirmation — that document governs if it differs from this general policy.
Classification
HS 25.01 codes
Salt is classified under heading 25.01. The sub-code for your shipment depends on the product — pink rock, sea salt, black salt or another salt — and is confirmed in the quotation and shown on the shipment documents.
| Code | Description |
|---|---|
| 25.01 | Salt (general heading) |
| 2501.0010 | Table salt and rock salt |
| 2501.0021 | Pink rock salt |
| 2501.0029 | Other (lumps, granules, powder, lamps etc.) |
| 2501.0030 | Sea salt |
| 2501.0090 | Other (black salt etc.) |
Codes are taken from Salzenith's business data. If your customs broker advises a different sub-code for your market, raise it at quotation so the documents match your clearance.
Per shipment
Documents checklist
These five documents accompany a shipment as standard. Anything your market additionally requires — a particular certificate, attestation or format — is agreed in the written quotation so it is prepared before dispatch, not chased afterwards.
Commercial invoice
Value, product, grade and pack for the shipment, matching the agreed quotation.
Packing list
What is in each pack and pallet, so receiving and customs checks are straightforward.
Certificate of origin
Origin documentation for the shipment, supporting origin claims at destination.
Bill of lading
The shipment's transport document, issued for the agreed trade term.
Batch Certificate of Analysis (COA)
Test results for the actual batch supplied — not general marketing claims.
Third-party inspection, on request
SGS/BV inspection is supported where the buyer requests it, arranged and documented as part of the order.
Testing
COA per batch, every time
Every batch is tested and ships with a Certificate of Analysis. A COA represents the actual batch supplied — its grade, particle size and test results — not a general claim about pink salt. Agree the specification you need in writing before production, so the COA can be checked against it on arrival.
Inspection
Third-party inspection policy
Third-party inspections (SGS/BV) are supported. If you want an independent inspection, say so at quotation: the inspector, the scope (quantity, quality, loading supervision) and who bears the cost are agreed in writing before production, so the inspection is part of the order rather than an afterthought.
Origin
Origin and GI note
Salzenith salt originates in Pakistan's Salt Range. Khewra pink rock salt is GI-registered in Pakistan, which protects its origin designation — so origin claims on packaging and documents should match the actual source and the certificate of origin for the shipment. Do not relabel origin: if your market needs a specific origin statement, agree its exact wording at quotation.
Buyer responsibilities
What the buyer confirms
Import permits. Any permit your country requires for importing salt or food products is the buyer's responsibility to obtain and confirm before shipment.
Destination labelling and food law. Language, nutrition, ingredient and regulatory labelling for your market, and compliance with your destination food law, are confirmed by the buyer. Salzenith packs and labels to the specification agreed in writing; the buyer owns the destination-law check.
Duties and taxes at destination. Duties, taxes and clearance charges at destination are the buyer's, unless the written quotation states otherwise. This matters most under CIF terms — CIF covers freight and insurance to the destination port, not destination duties (see the trade-terms guide).
Restricted and regulated
Destination eligibility, confirmed per order
Destination eligibility is confirmed at quotation. This page deliberately lists no banned countries and no sanctions positions, and promises no destination: eligibility, permits and any regulated-goods requirements for your destination are confirmed in writing before an order is confirmed. If a destination cannot be served, that is established at quotation — not after production.
Payment
Payment terms
Our preferred term is 100% irrevocable LC at sight, with D/P, CAD and advance options available. No new payment terms are introduced here: the payment term for your order is the one agreed in the written quotation or order confirmation. For a plain-language explanation of LC at sight, D/P, CAD and advance payment, see the trade-terms guide.
